The Windsor Spitfires fell 4-2 to the Sarnia Sting on home ice Thursday evening.
This is two losses in a row for the Spits after falling 5-2 against Saginaw on Sunday.
The West Division rivals couldn't seem to stay out of the box, with a total of 16 penalties between the two teams.
In the first period, Sarnia was the first team to score for the night. Windsor's Colton Smith scored a goal, assisted by Djibril Toure and Valentin Zhugin, to tie up the game.
In the second, the Sting scored three goals in the period to take the lead back 4-1.
In the third period, a powerplay goal was scored by Windsor's Noah Morneau, assisted by Ryan Abraham and Anthony Cristoforo. The Spitfires were unable to catch up to the Sting, pushing Sarnia to a 4-2 victory.
The Spitfires will hop on the road to Sarnia to finish the home-and-home series against the Sting in their arena Sunday evening.
Puck drop for Sunday's game is set for 7 p.m. with the AM800 pre-game show with Steve Bell will get underway at 6:45 p.m.
