Windsor Spitfires hockey is back for another season.
The Spits kick-off the 2022-2023 regular season at home on Saturday against the Sarnia Sting.
Windsor captured the Western Conference Championship last season and lost to the Hamilton Bulldogs in game 7 of the OHL final.
General manager Bill Bowler says he can't wait for the season to start.
"It was a short summer but anytime hockey season starts and knowing the group we have again this year and what's expected down at the rink, it's going to be a lot of fun," says Bowler.
General manager Bill Bowler says players and coaches are ready to start the regular season.
"Coming off last year we had a real good run and unfortunately came one game short of running the entire championship but we like our team," says Bowler. "We're still waiting on a few player we may have returned from the National Hockey League but right now looking at our group and the returnees, we think we can compete again."
General manager Bill Bowler says the team is already feeling the support from the community,
"Our supporters, sponsors and of course our fans have been behind us and they are now," says Bowler. "We already over 5,000 tickets for the game but there's still plenty of tickets available."
The team is hosting a season opening carnival outside of the WFCU Centre before the game.
