Some added roster depth for the Windsor Spitfires.
The Spits have traded a 12th round pick in the 2020 OHL Priority Draft to the Kitchener Rangers for defenceman Joseph Rupoli.
The 19-year-old is in his third OHL season and has played in 13 games this season for the Rangers.
Spitfires General Manager Bill Bowler says the team is adding a 2000-born player to the team.
"A real big strong defenceman, real good at clearing the front of the night," says Bowler. "We also like his versatility, has played a bit of forward but right now we see him playing some defence for us."
Rupoli is from Oakville.
He was drafted in the fifth round by the Oshawa Generals in the 2016 OHL draft.
Rupoli is expected to be in the line-up Saturday night when the Spits travel to Saginaw to battle the Spirit.
