Right Winger Cole Purboo is at his fourth Windsor Spitfires training camp.
He says he's been working on his skating over the summer to build speed and he expects camp to be rigorous.
"It's definitely going to be intense first day, we definitely want to set the tone for training camp we're going to have a really good team this year I think. So it's time for spots and I'm looking forward to the season starting"
He says it's great to be back and meet the other players.
"It's awesome to see everybody, especially the young guys and see the same energy I had when I was trying to get on the team," says Purboo. "Just things like that it's nice to see the cycle of guys and being the older guy this year I'm just trying to guide the way a little bit and teach the guys what it's like to be a Spitfire"
Being one of the veteran players, Purboo says he hopes to take on more of a leadership role this season.
"Definitely with the amount of years I've had and I've got good leadership qualities and just want to try and help everybody because it's going to be a team effort and we're going to be good this year, so"
Tuesday is the first day of on-ice training for the team as they get ready for a weekend tournament in Buffalo.
