A Toronto man has been charged after the OPP allegedly clocked him going close to double the speed limit on the 401.
On August 11 at 3:30pm, an OPP officer, travelling in an unmarked police cruiser, was going westbound on the 401 near Belle River Road in Lakeshore when the officer saw a vehicle approaching him from the rear at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle passed the police cruiser and was closed going more than 190km/hour in a 100 km/hour zone.
The vehicle continued at a high rate of speed and the OPP pulled him over near Manning Rd.
The Toronto man is charged with racing a motor vehicle — his driver's licence has been suspended and vehicle impounded.
