Don't get used to these mild spring-like temperatures.
Environment Canada has issued a severe weather statement for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent calling for the potential of heavy rain changing to snow on Thursday.
Rain could be heavy at times and as the temperatures drop, it will shift to snow overnight.
Speaking on AM800's the Morning Drive, Severe Weather Meteorologist Rob Khun says keep the umbrellas handy.
"It could be a fair amount [of rain], looking at the potential for 25 mm of rain during the day on Thursday and our forecast is indicating 15 to 25mm of rain."
He says as the low gets closer to zero, it will suck in colder air which will drive temperatures down below freezing although the timing is still uncertain.
"At this point we are looking for potential for accumulating snow Thursday night into Friday morning," he says. "So that everybody waking up first thing Friday could be waking up to a winter white landscape, something which we haven't seen much of the last couple of weeks."
Khun says there is a 100% chance of rain and the change-over to snow is high as well.
The Environment Canada statement indicates it is possible that some locations could receive 10 cm of snow.
Here is the latest forecast from Environment Canada as of 7:45am....
Today: Mainly cloudy with a 40% chance of showers. High 12.
Tonight: Mainly cloudy with a 40% chance of showers. Low 3.
