WindsorEssex and ChathamKent could receive upwards of 50mm of rain starting Friday
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement.
Significant rain is expected for parts of Chatham-Kent and Windsor Essex starting Good Friday and into Saturday.
Total rainfall amounts of 25 to 50 millimetres are likely thanks to weather systems from the Southern Plains states moving into Southern Ontario.
Although the ground is generally no longer frozen, Environment Canada says it will still have a limited ability to absorb this rainfall. As a result, some ponding of water is possible in low-lying areas.
At this point it looks like the rain will end by Sunday morning.
