The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) has taken over an investigation involving a teen in Leamington.
Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and OPP were called to Satinwood Crescent around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday for a was was described as a disturbance.
A 17-year-old boy from London, Ont. was arrested at the scene for a "matter unrelated to the investigation," according to OPP.
He was taken to the Leamington OPP detachment, but police say he was later transported to hospital.
Provincial police notified the province's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate.
The SIU is called in to investigate when police officers are involved in incidents where someone has been seriously injured, dies or alleges sexual assault.
