Essex has renewed its spay-neuter program for 2018.
Caregivers of free-roaming cats and low-income families with dogs or cats are eligible to receive a voucher worth $75 to get their pets spayed or neutered.
Vouchers are issued on a first-come, first-served basis and are available at Essex Town Hall, and the Harrow and Colchester South Community Centre.
Chief Administrative Officer Donna Hunter says since the program began in 2015, it has helped in getting nearly 1,000 feral cats spayed or neutered.
