An Amherstburg councillor will not be reprimanded.
The town's Integrity Commissioner Bruce Elman was calling for councillor Jason Lavigne to have his pay suspended for 45 days after an investigation looked into leaked information following an in camera meeting in September.
However in a recorded vote, council voted against the recommendation and decided to only receive the report.
Elman's investigation revealed Lavigne as the source for the alleged leak of confidential information.
Elman says the leak came from councillor Jason Lavigne. He also stated Lavigne did not take part in the investigation. @AM800News #cklw pic.twitter.com/1YagzW16SJ

He said the councillor shared information to Bob Rozankovic, the chair of the Amherstburg police board regarding the switch from Windsor police to Amherstburg police.
Elman's report stated Rozankovic then shared the information with town staff.

Lavigne says he does not agree with the findings in the report.
"At no time did he have proof, at no time did he have any proof and he admitted that," says Lavigne. "It was his opinion, it was circumstantial."
He adds he did not do anything wrong.
"There was no violation," says Lavigne. "I did what I was suppose to do. I told the police board that I heard things that we had in camera, he asked the mayor and the CAO and this is where we get. This circus of a last six weeks of our term."
Councillor Leo Meloche has made a motion to receive the report with a reduction in pay to Councillor Lavigne. #cklw @AM800News pic.twitter.com/kQlZRWl0jV

According to Elman, both Lavigne and Rozankovic did not co-operate with the investigation.
Elman also recommended the new council does not allow Rozankovic to be appointed to any of the town’s agencies, boards, commissions or committees for the upcoming term of council.
The motion to receive the report with the deduction to Councillor Jason Lavigne has failed. Following the vote the councillor issued this statement to the media. @Aburg_TownHall @AM800News #cklw pic.twitter.com/eecNrsxZQJ
