Some good news and some bad in the wake of this year's CAA Worst Roads list.
Three streets in Windsor made the top five in the south west region, Ypres Ave., College Ave. and Tecumseh Rd. E.
"Ypres is going to get reconstructed this year, you will see that road hopefully come off the list next year," says City Engineer Mark Winterton. "We've got plans to get that one done and we'll also be doing work on a section of College that is west of Huron Church Rd."
He says the $30-million price tag for Tecumseh Road E., east of Lauzon Parkway means that won't happen immediately.
"We are going to be keeping an eye that, but a lot of that has to do with the capacity. So the road has to be completely reconstructed and rebuilt. We don't have the money in the five-year budget right now to move forward with the full reconstruction."
Winterton is asking drivers to be patient and says "we know what we have to do out there. Unfortunately we can't get to all the roads that we want to. But we do our best to make sure they're safe."
The top road on the list belongs to Sarnia — Plank Rd. led the pack for Worst Roads in the south west region.
