An update to a Flood Warning issued by ERCA.
A Flood Warning from Saturday morning will remain in effect for most of Essex County, but shifting wind speed and directions means changes for several areas.
The west side of Point Pelee in Leamington along with the west coast of Pelee Island are now under a Flood Watch. This advisory issued as the current wind speed and direction will modify and shift to a westerly wind after midnight exceeding 30 kilometers.
Water level in the western basin of Lake Erie may be higher from the strong winds of the last two days.
The transitioning of the wind direction will accelerate the effect of a sieche in the western basin, which could cause potential shoreline erosion and wave damage, according to the release.
