A hot couple of days are on tap for Windsor-Essex this week.
Environment Canada Severe Weather Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says the temperature is expected to hit the high 20's and low 30's but when the humidex is factored in, it will feel more like the high 30's and low 40's.
He says along with the heat, there are chances for rain showers and thunderstorms.
"One of the concerns the forecasters have actually is the possibility that we could set up a series of showers and maybe some heavier thunderstorms coming in from lower Michigan sort of in a west-east or southwest to northeast orientation hitting the Windsor-Essex-Kent area repeatedly over a number of hours," says Coulson.
Coulson says looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday's high is 28 and Sunday's high is 29.
He says there will be plenty of sunshine with a slight chance of showers, Saturday night heading into Sunday.
