Winter has not forgotten about Windsor-Essex.
A snow storm is heading to southwestern Ontario with current amounts ranging from 5-10 cm or 2-4 inches on Saturday.
But Severe Weather Meteorologist at Environment Canada Desjanelle Matthews says there are still a lot of unknowns about this storm, which will be centred south of the Great Lakes, and the amount of snow it will carry.
"The best estimate I can give you at the moment will be somewhere in the 5-10cm range for Windsor, but again over the next 24 hours as this storm moves over the continent and we get more observations into our system and going into the models we are hoping to get more information," she says.
As well, behind the snow, temperatures will plummet to the coldest temperatures Windsor-Essex has seen this winter along with wind chills.
Matthews says the snow will begin in Windsor Saturday morning and then the cold windy temperatures move in, which she says could pose problems with blowing snow on Sunday.
She is suggesting travellers adjust their travel plans.
