Working smoke alarms save lives.
The message from the Chatham-Kent Fire Department following the second house fire in 4 days where smoke detectors alerted families to get out of their homes safely.
Crews from two stations were called to Elgin St. in Wallaceburg just after 11:30pm Monday night where they found a house fully involved and hydro lines down on the street.
Damage is $120,000 and the cause is under investigation.
