A thank-you from the W.E. Care for Kids Foundation.
The foundation received a $161,000 cheque on Tuesday from local Tim Horton's owners.
The money was raised during the coffee chain's annual Smile Cookie Campaign.
For one week in September, the coffee shop owners donated the full $1 from every chocolate chunk smile cookie sold.
Ashley Weeres is the Operations Manager for W.E. Care for Kids.
She says money raised will stay in Windsor-Essex.
"All the funds raised from this year's Smile Cookie campaign will be used to purchase a point of care ultrasound machine and it will be used significantly in the W.E. Care for Kids paediatric operating room at Windsor Regional Hospital's Met campus," says Weeres
She says this year's Smile Cookie Campaign was a hit.
"It was truly overwhelming to see people sharing their smile cookies with us through social media and you can tell by the number, a lot of smile cookies were purchased here in the community to support us and we're so humble and thankful," says Weeres.
W.E. Care for Kids was one of 550 Canadian charities to benefit from the national campaign.
