The St. Clair College men's varsity golf team got off to an average start at the OCAA Championship on Monday.
The Championship is being hosted by Fanshawe College at Firerock Golf Club just outside of London.
The Saints are currently sitting in 7th place out of 12 teams in the three day event with a team score of 336.
Scoring was very tough on a miserable, cold, windy, wet day on the par 71 difficult layout.
Five players play for each team with the best four scores counting each day.
There will be a cut after day two into two divisions with the top 6 teams qualifying for Division I.
Leading the way for St. Clair was Marshal Quinn (LaSalle, Sandwich Seconday) who shot a 7 over 78 which puts him in a tie for 17th place but only 6 strokes out of a bronze medal with 2 more rounds to play.
Derick Hare (Windsor, FJ Brennan) also had a solid round shooting an 8 over 79.
Other team members for St. Clair are Brett Harrison (Essex, Essex District), Simon Desmarais (Windsor, FJ Brennan), and Justin Roets (Tilbury; Tilbury District).
