No charges will be laid against Chatham-kent police officers after a 34-year-old man was hurt while being arrested.
Police were called in July 2017 for a man who was 'not in his right mind' after doing narcotics.
He had also assaulted another person.
When officers arrived on scene, they tried to arrest him but he resisted so they took him to the ground where he scraped his face.
While taking him to the police station, the offender began banging his face on the screen of the police cruiser.
He was brought to the hospital and was diagnosed with having a broken nose.
The director of the SIU found the arrest, and the manner in which it was carried out, was lawful and the actions taken by officers fell within the proper limits.
