Chatham-Kent emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Ninth Line and Merlin Road around 9:43 p.m. Saturday night.
Upon arrival, they found a single vehicle in the ditch. Police say the driver was going westbound on Ninth Line when his vehicle collided with the ditch on the west side of Merlin Road.
A 27-year-old Wheatley man suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead on scene.
The Chatham-Kent Police Traffic Management Unit has taken over the investigation.
