The Windsor Assembly Plant will be shut down next week.
FCA Canada and Unifor Local 444 both say the plant will be shut down to "adjust inventory."
Local 444 President Dave Cassidy says he was made aware of the shut down on Thursday.
"There's all kinds of speculations as to why we're shutting down etc but it's nothing but an inventory adjustment," says Cassidy. "So you can put all those other rumours to bed. It's nothing new in our industry, things happen day to day, week to week."
Cassidy adds some feeder plants represented by Local 444 will be impacted.
"They might not be entirely down because they have some work for some other facilities, some of our feeders but it's going to be a negative effect," says Cassidy. "You know how the spin off jobs work out of the OEMs when Chrysler gets shut down it really affects Windsor Essex County."
As of now, production is scheduled to resume on November 5th.
