The trial of the Shores of Erie International Wine Festival on Liquor Licence Act charges will continue today.
The charges stem from a car crash on September 6, 2014 which claimed the life of 18-year-old Emily Bernauer.
She had been a volunteer at the Sobeys booth at the festival and earlier testimony indicates she had been consuming alcohol at the event.
The owner of the Sobeys booth, Renato Rota, and festival Chair Karen Gyorgy both testified at the trial on Tuesday.
Gyorgy told the court about the strict rules volunteers for the festival had to follow, but admitted the volunteers at the booths were not under the same rules.
She told court about Rota coming to her home early the morning after the fatal crash.
Gyorgy asked him "how could you let this happen"
She says he responded "it was a perk for the volunteers."
Earlier testimony from a volunteer who had worked with Bernauer indicated there was wine in a cooler at the Sobeys booth and that Bernauer had been able to get drinks at booths, despite being under age.
Gyorgy was asked about the security in place at the festival and explained they spent $45,000 for a private security firm to handle age validation along with Amherstburg Police patrolling the grounds.
