Shoppers are up early today in search of Black Friday deals.
There was a line-up for when the doors opened this morning at the Walmart on Dougall Ave.
Windsor's Linda Ulmen says she normally goes to the U.S. for Black Friday. "With the exchange, it was a much better deal here and the crowds aren't as big."
Cheryl Simpson was there when the doors opened at Walmart. She says there is quite a difference between Windsor and the Black Friday experience across the border. "It's much more civilized here. Everyone lined up and cued on in when they opened the doors. We ran a little bit to the areas."
Zaid El Sayed bought a big screen TV. He says he usually does his Black Friday shopping across the border. "The deals are better here because of the exchange rate but there's just more selection in the states."
The Canadian dollar ended trading Thursday at 78.65 cents U.S.
