Shepley, a 6'4" 310 pound offensive lineman, who played at UBC with the Thunderbirds was a first-round pick last night, fifth overall to Regina.
Shepley is currently in New Jersey participating in this weekend's mini-camp with the Jets.
Another player with local connections Lekan Idowi, a defensive back from the University of Windsor was taken by Montreal in the eighth round.
