Denis Shapovalov is the last Canadian in the men's side of the Rogers Cup after upsetting 14th seeded Fabio Fognini 6-3, 7-5 in a weather-delayed second-round match.

Shapovalov will be on centre court tonight in Toronto as he's taking on Robin Hasse of the Netherlands in the Round of 16 of the tennis tournament.

Fellow Canadian Milos Raonic saw his tournament end with a three-set loss to Frances Tiafoe of the United States.

Felix Auger-Aliassime of Montreal lost to Russian qualifier Daniil Medvedev.    The women's side of the Rogers Cup is now Canadian free.

Local favourite Francoise Abanda lost to U-S Open champion Sloane Stephens 6-0, 6-2 in Montreal.

Also, Alize Cornet of France beat listless-looking Wimbledon champion Angelique Kerber 6-4, 6-1 in a second round match.
