A tough ending for Denis Shapovalov at the Paris Masters.
The Canadian fell to world number one Novak Djokovic in straight sets Sunday in the men's final.
Shapovalov defeated three higher-ranked opponents to reach the semifinals and then advanced to the final when Rafael Nadal withdrew with an abdominal injury.
The 20-year-old is expected to rise to a career high number 15 when the new world tennis rankings are released Monday.
His previous high was number 20.
Djokovic has beaten Shapovalov all four times they've played this season.
