WINDSOR — The trial of a Windsor denture clinic employee charged with multiple counts of sexual assault is underway.
Mario Mouamer, 42, pleaded not guilty to 15 counts of sexual assault at the start of his trial Monday morning in Superior Court.
The charges stem from 12 complainants who came forward alleging the offences took place from January 2013 to July 2017.
Mouamer was arrested in 2017 following an alleged incident at the clinic on Tecumseh Rd. East near Pillette, when a woman reported to police that she was touched inappropriately.
After the arrest, more complainants came forward.
At the start of the trial, defence lawyer Laura Joy referred to Mouamer as an 'innocent young professional,' who is facing these serious accusations.
Three weeks have been set aside for the trial.
