A statement by Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens has several councillors confused.
Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne sat down with council Friday to discuss issues affecting Windsor.
In an interview with AM800's Gord Bacon, Dilkens said three key items were discussed, one of those items was the next phase of the mega hospital.
Dilkens says the premier discussed with council the need to move to the next phase.
Ward 4 councillor Chris Holt found that claim confusing, taking to social media to question the validity of the quote.
"That caught me by surprise," says Holt. "In fact there was no mention of the mega hospital during the entire meeting with the premier. Not the formal session at the meeting room table that I was present at."
He wasn't the only one. Ward 3 councillor Rino Bortolin was at the same meeting.
Bortolin says he's certain the subject never came up.
Holt took time off work to attend the meeting and bring the hospital issue to the premier's attention. He says when it wasn't brought up, he definitely noticed.
"I had prepared a package about my concerns about relocating the two core area hospitals to the bean field site out past the airport. In fact, the only reason I was there was to talk about this, but unfortunately I didn't get the opportunity to do so," says Holt.
