A LaSalle man who killed a pregnant Windsor woman says he is sorry from the bottom of his heart.
A sentencing hearing has concluded for 27-year-old Matthew Brush who brutally killed Cassandra Kaake in December 2014. Kaake was seven months pregnant when she was killed.
In addressing the court, Brush said he does not ask for forgiveness but asks not to hate him. He choked up at times.

The court heard Brush had broken into Kaake's home on Benjamin Ave when she wasn't there. But then she arrived home and Brush threw a towel over her head and beat her, choked her and slit her throat. He then set her apartment on fire.
Brush pleaded guilty to second degree murder and the defence is asking for parole ineligibility to be set at 20 years.
The crown wants it set at 23 to 25 years.
Court is done for the day. Judge's ruling is Monday at 2pm. #cklw
