Upgrades to the Seminole branch of the Windsor Public Library are now complete.
The improvements include new carpet, furniture, shelving and paint.
Ward 5 Councillor Ed Sleiman says he raised his family just a couple of blocks away.
"When my kids were growing, we used to come in to here. I'd come with them and they'd pick up books, they spent time reading and we'd take books home. My children benefited quite a bit, seriously," says Sleiman.
The $70,000 worth of work was done with ward funds.
Sleiman calls the branch the hub of the community.
"The neighbourhood around here, they come in. Like, they come and they take pride in it, they say it's in our community. I can't imagine if the library wasn't here," he says.
