Unifor Local 195 says strike action at Flex-N-Gate Lakeshore was averted over the long weekend after a new tentative agreement was reached.
It marks a second deal, after 50.3 per cent of the plant’s 166 unionized workers rejected the first agreement in a vote on Friday.
The workers’ collective agreement expired May 17, but union leadership says bargaining continued.
The bargaining committee, along with Local 195 and the national union, is recommending acceptance of the new deal.
Workers will vote Friday at 3 p.m. at the union hall on Somme Avenue.
Flex-N-Gate manufactures metal and plastic automotive components at its plant on Patillo Road.
