Due to the outpouring of support for a five-month old baby girl from Windsor battling a potentially fatal disease, a second 'get-swabbed' event has been scheduled.
Madalayna Ducharme was recently diagnosed with a genetic disorder called Malignant Infantile Osteopetrosis, a disease that attacks vision, hearing and ultimately is life threatening.
The disease allows bones to become too dense, preventing them from working properly.
Madalayna's family put out a call for help because she needs a bone marrow stem cell transplant.
A swab event is scheduled for Thursday, January 26th from 9:30am to 3:30pm at St. Clair College.
Because of the trremendous amount of interest generated, a second event has been scheduled for Saturday, January 28th at the Windsor Canadian Blood Services office from 8am to 2pm.
Potential donors must be between the ages of 17 and 35.
