A former local man will stand trial on a charge of first degree murder in the death of his estranged wife in Essex County.
Following a preliminary hearing, Justice Lloyd Dean ruled there is enough evidence for 49-year-old Scott Quick to proceed to trial on the charge, which is the most serious offence in Canada.
Nancy Galbraith-Quick was struck by a stolen minivan outside of St. William's School in Emeryville in February 2006.
The educational assistant died a few days later in the hospital.
The OPP arrested Quick nine years later and has since been in custody.
A publication ban prevents any details from the case from being released.
The case returns to court January 6th.
The trial is slated for the summer of 2017 for a couple of months.
