Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer is speaking out after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau addressed the SNC-Lavalin file Thursday morning.
Scheer is accusing Trudeau of trying to duck and hide, instead of showing some leadership and accepting some responsibility and is again, calling for his resignation.
Trudeau told a packed Ottawa news conference that he should have been aware of an erosion of trust between his office and former justice minister Jody Wilson-Raybould.
But he insists that she was not subjected to inappropriate pressure to stop a criminal prosecution of the company and did not apologize to her
NDP leader Jagmeet Singh is also reacting to Trudeau's comments and says there should have been an apology from Prime Minister Trudeau.
Singh continues to call for a public inquiry into Wilson-Raybould's claim that she was subject to inappropriate pressure to save SNC-Lavlin from criminal prosecution.
Meanwhile, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe saysTrudeau needs to be reminded that he is not the premier of Quebec.
He's taking aim at the prime minister's claim that SNC-Lavalin's case is important because of the nine-thousand jobs tied to the Quebec company, pointing out thousands of jobs have been lost in the energy sector.
Alberta Premier Rachel Notley wants Trudeau to get back to work defending jobs and farmers, suggesting his government is navel-gazing at its own controversy.
