It's that time of the year again.
The first Santa Claus parade in Windsor-Essex kicks off Saturday, November 17th in Kingsville.
The parade is put on by the Windsor Parade Corporation and Executive Director Maggie Durocher says there will be some new bands in the parade.
"We are extremely pleased with the response we got from a number of different municipalities as well from a number of American bands," says Durocher. "We have an increased number in American bands at our disposal this year, we're extremely pleased for that. Of course we're really ramping up for the 50th annual Windsor Santa Claus Parade this year as well."
She says there will be something new in all of the parades.
"That's what people come to see, it's the entertainment value, it's the marching bands," says Durocher. "It's what sets us apart from a number of other parades and we work hard to bring that in to attract people. Once they've bundled up all the kids and they come out, they make the commitment to come to the parade, we want to make sure that it's a really great experience for them."
Amherstburg's Santa Claus Parade takes place on November 24th while Essex's parade happens on December 8th.
The 50th annual Windsor Santa Claus Parade returns to downtown Windsor on December 1st.
