Another delay for the new roundabout in Old Sandwich Town.
Construction which began in late June, was first scheduled to open after Labour Day but was delayed to the end of September.
Now the roundabout isn't expected to open until late October or even early November.
City engineer Mark Winterton says archaeological work continues at the construction site after several artifacts from a former Native-Canadian settlement was discovered.
He says the opening is delayed.
"We've been the Ministry of Culture to finalize a plan that's taken a bit of time much more than we anticipated and so they're working out there on their plan."
Winterton says construction was ahead of schedule before the archaeological dig.
"Once the archaeological work is done we still have to get in with the contractor to finish up their portion of the work," he says. They've been very patient with us and have gone off site to other projects but they still need to be in and complete the work that they have on their schedule."
Nick Papadatos is owner of Nick's Auto Clinic on University Avenue West.
His business is right in the middle of the construction and says he's trying to stay positive.
"We have no choice but to remain optimistic and ultimately the construction will come to an end and the motorists will get back to a better way through the corridor."

Work is being done at the intersection of Sandwich Street and University Avenue West/Riverside Drive. Ultimately business has been steady but the detours are a mess.
"Travelling through Peter Street at Mill Street has been very tough on them so I think the project is tougher on the motorists than it is on me."
Winterton implors drivers to be patient.
"Unfortunately this is something that's out of our hands with it comes to the legislation surrounding the archaeological work and we want to get in and out of there as quickly as possible so please be patient and we'll get it completed as best we can."
The project includes a roundabout, a new water main, new pavement as well as the installation of the Chief Tecumseh and General Brock statues.
