The St. Clair College Men's Baseball team (4-0) swept a doubleheader against Seneca College (0-4) yesterday afternoon in Tecumseh at Lacasse Park by scores of 3-1 and 10-0 to run their record to 4-0 early in the OCAA Regular season.
In game one the Saints fell behind 1-0 in the 4th inning but pushed 3 runs across in the 5th inning to regain the lead which is all the offense they would need for starting pitcher Seth Chauvin (Tecumseh, ON/L'Essor) who went the distance allowing just 3 hits while striking out 3 Seneca batters. Austin Oulds had two RBI's and a single to lead St. Clair at the plate adding a stolen base.
In game two St. Clair scored two in the 2nd inning but saved their energy for an 8-run outburst in the 5th inning which secured a mercy shortened 10-0 victory. Saints starter Micah Harris (Cottam, ON/Essex District) picked up the win in short work only giving up a single hit to go with 2 strikeouts. Carson Burke (Tecumseh, ON/St. Anne) was short of the cycle by a homerun collecting 3 hits and added an RBI while Kevin Dion had a pair of hits to go with an RBI for St. Clair.
St. Clair goes on the road next weekend for doubleheaders at Humber College (Etobicoke) on Saturday and Durham College (Oshawa) on Sunday.
