The St. Clair College men's baseball has opened the National College Baseball Championship in Oshawa with a pair of wins.
The defending champs rolled over Fanshawe 10-2 Friday morning.
The Falcons plated a run in the first two innings to grab a 2-0 lead, but the Saints scored six times in the top of the third inning to blow open the game.
Taylor Pappin scattered five hits over six innings and struck out nine to pick up the win.
Max Ayarza, Matt Sykes and Eric Cunningham each had two hits for St. Clair and Ayarza had three RBIs.
in their second game, St. Clair mercied John Abbott College of Quebec 10-0.
Cunningham hit a solo homerun and Ayarza and Matt Bassingthwaighte each had a pair of RBIs.
The Saints play their final pool game against Durham College Saturday morning at 10:00.
