The St. Clair College Men's Basketball team got off to a great start with an impressive 85-73 road exhibition win over the University of Western Ontario at Alumni Hall in London.
Good defense ignited a balanced attack for the Saints who never trailed in the contest. St. Clair was up 19-12 after the opening quarter and held a 43-33 advantage by halftime. The Saints increased their lead during the 3rd quarter and only faltered slightly in the 4th quarter but had a good cushion to seal the win.
3rd year guard William Lara-Caston had the hot hand for St. Clair scoring 21 and made good on three triples. 3rd year swingman Lance Drummonds had 15 points and 5 rebounds with 5th year guard Jermaine Lynch also reaching double figures scoring 12 points and adding 10 assists for the unconventional double-double.
2nd year forward Andrés Bravo (Panama City, Panama) narrowly missed a double-double with 9 points and 10 rebounds. Rookie guard Ali Mansour (Windsor, ON/Kennedy) was also effective from long range making good on three triples for 9 points off the Saints bench.
The St. Clair Men's Basketball team come home for another exhibition game on Sunday at 2:00pm against Centennial College (Scarborough) who play in the OCAA's East Region.
