The St. Clair College Baseball team won in dramatic fashion, scoring three runs in the 9th inning to walk-off the University of Windsor 6-5 at Lacasse Park Tuesday night.
St. Clair fell behind 1-0 in the 2nd inning which grew to a 4-0 disadvantage in the 6th inning.
The Saints answered with a single run in the bottom of the 6th and stayed within striking distance with another run in the 7th.
Windsor seemed to gain a stranglehold taking a 5-2 lead in the 8th inning. But after being outplayed most of the game, St. Clair added a run in the bottom of the 8th which set the stage for the 9th inning rally.
Rookie catcher Mitch Zerbin hit an RBI double in the 9th and then scored the winning run on a sac-fly by 2nd year Saints third baseman Riley Warren from London.
Saints 3rd year centerfielder Brendan Renaud had three hits including a double adding 2 RBI's and also had a key hit in the 9th to set the stage for the final run.
2nd year first baseman Michael McKay also had two hits and an RBI for the Saints.
St. Clair rookie pitcher Max Topolie got the win in relief pitching a scoreless 9th inning.
