Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at presented a $15,000 cheque to the Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation Saturday.
The money was raised through the third annual Run for Windsor in 2019 and will help develop a future urgent care centre.
Nesir Ahmed tells CTV Windsor the fundraising effort fits with the organizations philosophy.
"Islam believes that you should donate to those who need help. If you have it give to those who don't have it," says the vice president of the Ahmadiyya Elders Association.
Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation President John Comisso says the money will be put to good use.
"We have a lot of money we have to raise before the new hospital is built and the urgent care centre," he says. "The money that we get today is put aside and invested so when the urgent care centre is built or the new hospital, the monies will go toward that."
The group has now raised $45,000 for the foundation.
