The Rotary Club of LaSalle Centennial says it has new opportunities for the youth of LaSalle.
The club is offering to sponsor a student from the area to attend the 'Adventures in Canada Program.'
The program sponsors the cost for students to travel to Ottawa to see how the country is run. Students who will be graduating secondary school will also be able to apply for a $500 scholarship.
Chair for Rotary Club of LaSalle Centennial Amanda Larusso says these new opportunities are aimed at supporting youth development in the area and allowing students to fully understand Canada's political system.
"They do a mock Parliament, they meet Cabinet Ministers and other elected officials," says Larusso. "They get to visit Parliament Hill and a few embassies and they create a dialogue amongst themselves about issues of diversity and other issues of national importance."
