A Brampton father charged with first-degree murder has died.
A source tells CP 24 in Toronto, Roopesh Rajkumar died in hospital on Wednesday.
The 41-year-old was charged with first-degree murder after an Amber Alert was issued last Thursday for his daughter Riya Rajkumar.
The 11-year-old girl was suppose to be out celebrating her birthday with her father who she didn't live with.
Her mother went to police after the father failed to drop off his daughter and he had made comments about his intentions to hurt himself and the girl.
Peel regional police issued an Amber Alert for her around 11pm last Thursday.
Sadly, the girl's body was found in his Brampton home.
She was laid to rest Wednesday morning.
Roopesh Rajkumar was in hospital suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
