A popular pastime is making a comeback in the Town of Essex.
The town is re-introducing roller skating and roller blading at the Essex Centre Sports Complex.
Mayor Ron McDermott says roller skating use to happen at the old Memorial Arena before it was scrapped. "We heard a little bit from the public, said why don't we do something in the summer time down there instead of broom ball or whatever roller skating, yeah that's good," says McDermott.
The cement pad at one of the rinks will be available on Wednesday nights from 6pm until 8:30pm.
McDermott says it's another opportunity to get the public active. "Something for the kids to do, something different, something different," says McDermott.
The first skate will happen on June 6th and will end in August.
The cost is $3.00 per skater or $10.50 for a family of five.
