The raising of the steeple at St. Anne Church in Tecumseh will result in some road closures next week.
The town says Lesperance Rd. between Arbour St. and Tecumesh Rd. East will be temporarily closed from Monday, November 13 at 9am to Friday, November 17 at 4pm, weather permitting.
Crews will delicately lift the belfry with a crane and place it on the steeple.
Local traffic only will be permitted on Lesperance Rd.
All businesses will remain open.
Building Committee member Ed Renaud says they had to delay the lift until after the Co Rd 22 and Manning intersection project is done:
Renaud says the full renovation project still isn't complete.

"We're still looking to raise funds," says Renaud "We were given the OK by the Diocese to go ahead and put it up, but we still need to raise funds to do some major repairs around the church along with the spire. We have to try to raise $1.7-million"
Renaud says the 1873 church is a historic building that is the heart of the community and is one of the oldest in the Windsor area.

The church had to raise $2.5-million for the restoration project. Local philanthropist Alan Quesnel donated $1.25-million.
