It's time to fire up the grills again.
The Windsor Rib Festival is back at the Riverfront Festival Plaza this weekend.
It's the second time this year the event has been held in Windsor with the first taking place in June.
Event co-organizer Victor Anast says he wanted to bring the event back to Windsor for a couple of reasons.
"The students are back which they weren't here in June," says Anast. "The casino is now open so the downtown is a little bit more vibrant than it was back in June."
There will be five ribbers here for the second visit to Windsor.
"There's different barbecue from all over the province, and also the country, and everybody here is showcasing their own southern style sauces that they make," says Anast. "Their own rib rubs, so there's a lot of variety in regards to barbecue."
The event also includes live entertainment and craft beer.
The rib fest is part of the "Northern Heat Rib Series."
It runs from 11am to 11pm Saturday and 11am to 7pm Sunday.
