The CAO in Amherstburg will soon be under the microscope.
Town council has agreed to spend up to $10,000 on a performance review for John Miceli.
The review will be done by an outside firm from Markham.
Mayor Aldo DiCarlo believes this review is the first of its kind for an Amherstburg CAO.
He says some councillors felt it was important to have the review done since all other town staff undergo a similar review.
"I think in retrospect, you got a councillor or two that realize that every employee that works for the Town of Amherstburg has had some form job appraisal and they just thought it made sense to do the CAO as well," says DiCarlo.
DiCarlo adds some residents are not happy with the cost of the review.
"The downside is, it will cost the town some money," says DiCarlo. "When you get up to that level there's obviously no one who can do the evaluation. We can't have anybody that reports to him do it, so we did have to go outside, so there has been some negative reaction in that regard."
DiCarlo says it's unknown if the review will be done this year or next year.
He says it all depends on the availability of the firm.
