It won't happen for another year or two, but if you frequently use Tecumseh Road West,a major traffic headache is on the way.
A reconstruction project between Janette and Crawford is in the works — complete with wider lanes, updated sidewalks and a multi-use trail
Ward 10 councillor Paul Borrelli says the work is well overdue.
"It's a very, very challenging area after the tracks there," he says. "What I like about it, is they're going to be putting a share-way. Pedestrians can walk and there's also a bike path. That's what I've been advocating for for a long time and they're actually doing that and I'm very impressed by the design."

He says when completed, the road will be better for both drivers and pedestrians.
"The challenges of the cars going that route, it's very narrow. Now you'll have a pedestrian walkway on the west side plus a pedestrian walkway with the bicycle lane on the right side and completely demarcated in a safe way from the road which I really believe that that's the right way to do things."
The environmental assessment will now go to council for further discussion.
Borrelli says he's hoping construction can begin in 2019 or 2020.
