A construction crew broke a gas-line in downtown Windsor around 5 pm Saturday.
Windsor Police cordoned off and evacuated a one block radius at Alymer Ave. and Riverside Dr. as a precaution while Union Gas went to work turning off the gas to the area.
According to police, a natural-gas-line was severed in the front yard of a home by a backhoe operator.

Windsor Fire and Rescue are on scene, but the natural gas-line did not ignite and police say the operator of the backhoe was able to safely get away.
Police are asking people to avoid the area. No one was injured.
