The Greater Essex County District School Board is looking for some input into its new high school in Amherstburg.
Residents are asked to fill out a brief survey online on what they would like to see included in the new school. The school will serve the Amherstburg area as well as students from any elementary school in Essex County who are considering a high school program similar to the one at Western Secondary School.
Board Spokesperson Scott Scantlebury says the survey is open until June 9.
"We are trying to gather some input from the community about what they think is important as far as their unique community is concerned that they would like to see included in the high school," says Scantlebury.
He says the board did this before by asking residents in Kingsville about the new school there.
"We got a surprising response as far as we were concerned from the Kingsville community on the K-12 school. There were a lot of submissions and it helped to give us some direction."
A location for the $25-million school has not been picked yet.
