The Town of Essex will be reinvesting its refund from the Windsor-Essex Economic Development Corporation.
The town is getting just under $73,000 which will be used for future economic development opportunities.
Councillor, Bill Caxeiro, says any money helps.
"That sometimes can be a costly thing to do, whether it be through website promotion, through advertising," says Caxeiro. "So it does start to help that situation, but I'm sure we're going to need to put more money in that direction in the near future if we want to see our community grow."
In September, County Council agreed to refund each of the seven municipalities. Last year, WEEDC returned $1.7-million to the city and county in unused funds. $767,000 went to the county.
